What's Included:
A 30-minute follow-up breastfeeding visit is a session that is scheduled after an initial breastfeeding consultation or if ongoing support is needed.
During this visit, Natalie Diaz will assess the breastfeeding process and address any concerns or issues that may have arisen since the initial consultation.
The visit may include:
1. Visual examination: Nat will check for any signs of engorgement, infection, or other issues that may affect breastfeeding.
2. Baby's latch assessment: The position and latch of the baby at the breast will be observed and evaluated. Nat will provide guidance on proper latch techniques to ensure effective milk transfer again if necessary.
3. Milk supply evaluation: Nat may assess milk supply by observing the baby's feeding patterns and weighing before and after breastfeeding to determine the amount of milk transferred.
4. Assessing feeding frequency and duration: Nat will evaluate the baby's feeding frequency and duration to ensure they are adequately nourished. They may provide guidance on establishing a feeding schedule if needed.
5. Addressing breastfeeding challenges: Any challenges or issues that have emerged since the previous consultation will be discussed, including sore nipples, mastitis, low milk supply, or others. Nat will provide guidance and possible solutions to address these challenges.
6. Pumping and storage guidance: If pumping is wanted or necessary, the Nat can provide guidance on the appropriate use of a breast pump, flange size, pumping techniques, and milk storage guidelines.
7. Answering questions and concerns: You have the opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have about breastfeeding and your baby's feeding behavior.
8. Developing a care plan: Based on the assessment and discussion, a care plan will be developed, which may include recommendations for improving breastfeeding techniques, managing any issues, or addressing concerns.
9. Follow-up plan: Nat may schedule another visit or provide resources to continue support if needed.
Overall, the 30-minute follow-up breastfeeding visit aims to provide continued guidance, support, and monitoring to ensure successful breastfeeding and address any challenges that may arise.

The session will be personalized to meet your specific needs and goals.
